Aquatint Print

ZvEmPxlVA6rBicPfX1rRNFjPdH7OziQT4gGN6hG61-8 (1)This print was produced through acid etching and aquatint processes. The subject is taken from a scene in the novel ‘Predators Gold’ by Phillip Reeve, the setting I chose is in the engine district of a moving city names Anchorage. This image has cogs and chains, dark shadows and walkways. In print this i have experimented with different coloured blacks, this particular one is a blue black tone and another very successful choice is a brown green black. There were a few small scratches on the plate which has given the print a gritty appearance. I very much like the look of the aquatint technique it takes longer than other processes but was suitable to what i wanted to produce.
